KALPAKA PARK RESIDENCE
HISTORY

The building at Kalpaka Blvd 7 is the middle one in the group of three buildings designed by the well-known Latvian architect J.F.Baumanis. Due to the single rhythm of composition the classic Kalpaka 7 building "agrees" perfectly with the stylistically different neo-gothic building at Kalpaka 5 and the neo-Renaissance style building at Kalpaka 9. Kalpaka 7 was built in 1874-1879 and is located in the so-called boulevard circle of Riga, which is characterized mainly by its art nouveau architecture.

SURROUNDINGS

The building is located northeast of Old Riga in an area with a well-developed infrastructure. There are prestigious offices and business centres, shops, cafes and restaurants, and more than twenty embassies, including those of Sweden, Finland, Great Britain, Russia, and the United States. The property faces beautiful Kronvalda Park, and because of the many trees and the landscaping, traffic noise is muffled.
